Please note that the parent album is an identical layout design as your album. If you choose to modify the design, a surcharge will be applied and is outlined on the following page.
Your album proof will be designed with a storytelling and layout aesthetics taken into consideration. I'll send a questionnaire asking for album size, where to mail your album and other design questions.
It is recommended to expect about 1-5 images per spread. This means that a 20 spread album design will include about 50 images.
As part of the process, please let me know the following:
1) your favourite image for the first page
2) your other top 5 images which will potentially be featured as single images across a single spread
3) 20 additional must have images. If you're having trouble, you can always just ask me to pick my faves!
The layout Process
I offer two different types of printed albums: Leather/Suede Albums and Linen Albums. Thin pages are included in your package however you may choose to upgrade to thick pages for a flat fee of $250. You may also choose to upgrade a parent album to leather/suede from linen for a flat fee.
The album size included in your package may range from 8x8 to 12x12. You may choose to upgrade the size of a parent or wedding album.

Oftentimes less is more.
Be communicative upfront about how close you want to stay within the included spread count, or anything else on your mind in the questionnaire. Typically, a well designed album will take more than 50 images to tell your story.
A well designed album is a delicate mix of matching images that make sense within a spread of an album and leaving enough room so the album does not look cluttered. It's not about fitting in as many photos as possible. The "edit" of a book is just as important as the quality of the materials it's made of. Be realistic about what can fit inside your heirloom album and focus on your favourites to tell your story.
You are always free to design a bigger album yourself with all of the images your heart desires. Your images are for you to use however you wish!
Tips to make things easier
Included in your album design is one round of alterations. Changes after this initial round of alterations will be provided for an additional fee starting at $50 per round of changes.

Sit down with a drink of choice and pour over your wedding gallery! This should be fun and not a task!!
Favourite your fave photos in your pic-time gallery by adding a 'heart'. Once you've gone through the entire gallery, it's time to start eliminating photos for your album! A good album design for 20 spreads will include about 50 images. If you're ok with purchasing additional spreads then you can feel free to go over this number. Be tough with your selections and narrow it down to your must haves. Then pop me an email outlining your fave, top 5, top 20 must haves.
If I'm not on vacation, a proof will be emailed back to you within 3 weeks of your selections being made. If you've made an error with a step, this process may be longer. The design of your album is considered with great care. It's my creative interpretation of your wedding story. My goal is to create something minimalist, clean and timeless - just like your wedding images.
Once you receive your proofing link, grab ANOTHER drink and turn on some music to flip through your wedding album. Relive the memories laid out in a beautiful heirloom album format and think back on that perfect day. Don't make notes this first round. Just enjoy.
Enjoy it as many times as you like. Don't be surprised if your album design contains extra spreads. I've designed it to show you what's possible, but we can trim it to something you'll love at a price you're comfortable with. I'm a realist and I know that the first time through might not be perfect. That's why there's a proofing process. It's now time to start making notes! In the proofing gallery is a feedback area on each page for you to give me exact instructions about moving images around or swapping out images. Be precise. Write out the file # of the image you want swapped. Make it idiot proof for me so that we just need one round of changes and your album goes to print!
This link will stay live for up to 3 months. After that point a hosting fee will be added for the album design of $20 per month.
Once you're fully happy with the final proof, approve it and your album will be sent to print.

Classic. Simple. Beautiful.
Timeless. Elegant. Clean. Simple.
These are the words the drive my photography style as well as my design aesthetic. As a result, you should expect from your design a simple, clean design without swirly extras, overlays or anything tacky.
Things I will avoid:
- Mixing styles in one spread. If it's a coloured spread, all of the images on that spread will be colour. If it's a black and white spread, then all images will match that tone.
- Mixing locations/backdrops. Each spread should be cohesive with a theme such as your wedding details, a ceremony, or a first look moment. I will not stuff multiple events into a single page unless it's a transition page.
- Cluttering up a page with 20 images. Less is more. I want to emphasize this because you lose the impact of an image if you jam in too much on a single spread. Imagine wearing 40 necklaces or 3 different earing sets - less is more.
- Borders or graphic overlays. Clean and simple is the name of the game!

In your questionnaire, I will ask for a secure mailing address. Please ensure the safety of your heirloom product by providing a safe address for delivery.
Once your order is placed, expect your album to be completed in about 4-6 weeks. Shipping will be an additional 2 weeks. I will send tracking so you can keep track of your order. If you would like to send your albums to different addresses, please reach out for pricing.
Get excited to receive your beautiful heirloom album. Holding your photos in your hands in a gorgeous album is an experience. Invite family over to enjoy this moment with you and to gift them their parent albums!
Keep your albums someplace safe but easily accessible so you can take it out to enjoy whenever your heart desires.
