To me, a beautiful photograph has two main elements: the light and the subject. My job is to make you shine. I will guide you to beautiful light. I will suggest sumptuous, edgy or simple locations depending on your personality. And I promise to photograph you in a beautiful yet honest way.
Whether a branding headshot, a family or maternity portrait, or a life event like a wedding, I approach every session the same way. I will always gently guide you with my understanding of the body and light.

My photography style is timeless. I preserve colour, depth, and style in my edited work. Through the introduction of light and movement, I am able to elevate my photography above the traditional and expected. Every photo I create is framed and composed in a deliberate way to highlight time, place and emotion.
I will be your guide to help with outfit design, and location choice. I believe that everything should be cohesive to have that polished look you see in my portfolio. I provide that assistance if you need it.
I believe strongly in preparation and communication. By the time we meet, you will feel the comfort in knowing you have been heard before I even click my shutter.

getting to know you
I send out a questionnaire to get to know your family's likes and dislikes. Each family dynamic is different. Every personality is unique. I don't force people into a mold. So many factors like how good your kids are in the car and any fears of dogs will come into play when choosing a location besides the obvious "architecture vs nature" discussion.

From your questionnaire I can guide you toward a location that would work. I also send an outfit planning tool with your booking. The tool will guide you according to your style preference. I'll get you into the correct frame of mind when approaching the session so you know that it's OK to not look at the camera and that you have the permission to relax and just have fun.
skillful & adaptive
Even with the best laid plans, things won't be 'perfect'. I book only one session per sunset, midday and sunrise so I can adapt to the light, your child's nap schedule and I allow time for breaks if anyone needs one. This keeps my sessions relaxed, laid-back and successful. The reason why you hire a professional is so that when things inevitably go wrong, you will be guided back on track.
