It’s been weighing on my mind for the past week. You know the part in the movie when the protagonist has that ‘sliding doors’ moment? When they think back to that moment when they had a choice and a decision to make? That choice that changed their lives and their path forever? For me, that moment is now. There is no going back in time to fix things. This is not the moment I want to regret. Maybe I’ve watched too many movies.

After digesting all of the latest information and seeing how hard hit the healthcare workers in China, Italy, Spain, then New York City were, I have made the difficult decision to cancel and postpone all my sessions for the next month. At first I thought maybe I could still exercise precautions by maintaining social distance at 6 ft for outdoor sessions, but I now know I cannot engage with my clients the way I normally do to get the photos and expressions I can be proud of. Something will always happen that is unforeseen when you go out and see people. Things are no longer are within your control. Something could happen on the way to the session. Someone could trip and fall requiring a doctor’s visit. The one thing I can control is to keep my clients safe and my family safe, while also doing my part to flatten the curve. I love the families I work with and I care so much for their well-being and safety. I could not live with myself if I was responsible for another person’s suffering.

So I’m taking this time to focus on my family, do some online learning I’ve been putting off for years and finally learn how to use tools that I’ve been limping by with only basic knowledge of. Many small businesses will be hit hard by the zero cash flow situation in the coming weeks/months. It doesn’t cost you a thing to like a post, so I would really appreciate spreading the word about my little business for when we come out the other side. If you have time and you haven’t posted a review about my business, I would love one. In return, I’ll continue to send you photos of cute babies and beautiful families. There’s no such thing as cute-overload, right?

I want us all to have so many more memories in the future. At that time, I’ll be there. Treasure your loved ones. Take out those old photos and reminisce. Maybe it’s a good time to finally make an album out of our photos. Be safe and stay healthy everyone. In the meantime, I’ll be sharing adorable families and weddings from the days when we were able to come together to celebrate love and life. This will pass and we will all see each other again very soon.

Be well and stay healthy.
Love,
Bella

Addendum: Thank you to all the incredible families that have already reached out to say they will be keeping their reservations and only postponing their appointments to show their support and commitment to me. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you to those families that have said they will come back in droves as soon as I start up again. Thank you to each and every one of you.

I will continue to monitor the situation and adjust as needed. Right now I believe that a minimum of a month is required to do my part to help the front line medical workers.
