Newton Newborn Photographer

Since I began, I’ve always been an on-location photographer. That means I don’t own a studio and I’ve trained my brain to think quickly and adapt to new situations and environments on an almost daily basis. My entire portfolio is filled with sessions that I have photographed in people’s homes, but inevitably I always am asked if I shoot in a studio. Hard to believe it, but these are 100% authentic, unstyled homes that real people live in! Every home isn’t straight out of a blog, so don’t be afraid of an in-home session if your house is dark and cluttered. Your home is the space you’ve made for your family and there are memories within those walls. A studio has none of those feelings as they try to make it as generic as possible. 100% if that is the style you are drawn to, you will not get that affect at home so please do reach out to a studio photographer. The Family

This is the 4th time I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this wonderful family. The first time there was a large family reunion in town and they invited me to document their time together. It was absolutely magical and we even had some snow! The second time grandmom if this darling baby girl came to town with her family and wanted to capture that time together as well. Newborn Images in Nursery

Completely modernized inside, this Newton home had gorgeous windows that allowed natural light to flood right in. They were worried about getting the nursery ready in time, so I was picturing Tupperware and Amazon boxes everywhere. Imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw this. I hope you’ll love sweet Ellery’s images. She really made me work for it as she slept about 30 minutes during her session. She was very alert and quite strong. This will give you a sense of a session that didn’t necessarily go to ‘plan’ but was still perfect in its own way. We got so many great expressions as a result! As a photographer working with newborns, you just need to go with the flow.

An awake newborn session

They requested something very specific in their questionnaire so I was able to prepare mentally for it. I work in people’s homes but I am able to create a makeshift mini studio for detail photos of just the newborn if you have a sentimental heirloom you wanted to incorporate. I just need to know ahead of time in your newborn questionnaire that I send to you upon booking and signing your contract.

I hope you loved the images we created in a single room in Newton for this newborn session. There is a lot I can do in a space. Home is where you’ve put so much love and thought into, so why not have your family session there?

Newborn Family Film

Since Ellery was so awake it was hard to get as much variety with poses, but I was so pleased with what we were able to create. It’s all because of this wonderful family that was patient and trusted me entirely. I am so thankful we met. I seriously get to know the BEST people.

Since I had less ‘free’ time to create film because of the constant feeds and soothing, this film isn’t as comprehensive as I would have liked, but I love it anyway. It tells her story and that’s what the film was meant to capture.
